About This Route
East Inlet Trail to Lone Pine Lake provides a scenic 10-mile RT backpack from Grand Lake side, through aspen groves to subalpine lake at 10,500 feet, en route to Boulder-Grand Pass. Quieter than east entrances; snag permit at Kawuneeche Visitor Center. Intermediate-friendly with meadows perfect for wildlife viewing.
Safety Considerations
Moose charging in wetlands; NPS: back away slowly. Beaver dams flood trails; ford carefully. Lightning on pass; drop packs low. Bears less common but canisters required. Water purify from East Inlet Creek.
