About This Route

Tofana di Rozes (3,225 meters), in the Tofane group west of Cortina, via the Normal Route from Rifugio Pomedes. Cable car from Cortina to Pomedes (2,508 meters), then 800-meter ascent with fixed ropes, snow patches, and Grade III rock steps. 5-7 hours up, classic Dolomites mixed climbing. Views span Nuvolau and Averau. Follow UIAA bolted route ethics; clean ascent.

Safety Considerations

Rockfall from south gully; ascend early to beat heat-loosened stones. Late snowfields require crampons into July. High winds scour ridges; monitor Windy app. Orthostatic hypotension common; hydrate proactively.
